Mohammed Saddique, aged 48, has been sentenced to 27 years behind bars, along with an additional eight-year extension on his license, after committing a series of child sexual abuse offences.

He started abusing a young child when the victim was 10 years old, with the abuse continuing for several years until the victim, showing commendable bravery, reported the crimes in April 2024.

An investigation conducted by the Child Abuse and Vulnerable Adults Unit (CAVA) led to Saddique’s arrest on charges that included rape, sexual assault, and the production of indecent images of a child.

He pleaded guilty in court to 19 charges at Teesside Magistrates’ Court, which included five counts of causing or encouraging a child under 13 to participate in sexual activity, nine counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, as well as making indecent images, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and false imprisonment.

The defendant appeared at Teesside Crown Court on Thursday, January 9th, where he was sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 27 years, with an eight-year extension on his license.

A lifelong restraining order was implemented to safeguard the victim, who will also remain on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

Saddique was additionally subjected to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).
