A man responsible for multiple sexual assaults against two different women has been given a prison sentence today.
The investigation was launched by Cleveland Police’s Complex Exploitation Team (CET) after two women came forward to report their experiences.
The suspect, 50-year-old Arshad Chaudrhy, was suspected following these disclosures.
In 2017, Chaudrhy sexually assaulted one woman on several occasions.
Later, in 2020, he assaulted a second woman and made an attempt to rape her.
Following these incidents, authorities arrested and charged him with a total of nine crimes: seven counts of sexual assault, one attempt at sexual assault, and one attempt at rape.
Chaudrhy denied the allegations in court.
However, after a trial, the jury found him guilty of all nine charges on Thursday, April 3rd.
He appeared before Teesside Crown Court on June 23rd, 2025, where he received a ten-year prison sentence.
