LEE KITCHING ABUSES YOUNG GIRL IN WARRINGTON AND HALTON MOOR ROAD
In June 2022, a disturbing case of child abuse came to light involving Lee Kitching, a man from Halton Moor Road, who was convicted of preying on a young girl over a period of several months. The incident has shocked the local communities of Warrington and Halton, highlighting the dangers posed by predators operating within these areas.According to court proceedings held at Leeds Crown Court on Friday, June 17, Kitching, aged 44 at the time, was identified as a dangerous and callous individual who manipulated a 13-year-old girl into believing that she was in love with him. This emotional manipulation was used as a tool to facilitate his sexual exploitation of the young girl. The court heard that Kitching began his inappropriate communication in June 2019, sending her a series of messages that crossed the boundaries of decency and morality.
He encouraged her to send explicit photographs, further escalating the inappropriate nature of their interactions. Over the course of several months, the victim and Kitching met at his residence on multiple occasions, where he took advantage of her sexually. The court revealed that Kitching, who was 41 years old at the time of the offences, engaged in sexual activity with the girl on six separate occasions between August and October of that year.
During the trial, Kitching admitted to possessing indecent photographs of a child and maintaining extreme pornographic images. However, he pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual activity with a child. Despite his plea, the court found him guilty of these serious offences after a trial held in May.
As a result of his conviction, Kitching was sentenced to a term of eight years and six months in prison. Additionally, he will be required to sign the sex offenders’ register for the rest of his life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and preventing further harm to vulnerable individuals. The case underscores the importance of vigilance within communities like Warrington and Halton, where predators may operate under the radar, and highlights the need for continued efforts to protect children from exploitation and abuse.
