PRESTON MAN JAILED FOR LIFE IN DEVASTATING DOUBLE MURDER
A man named Lee Browne, aged 22 and living on Margaret Road in Preston, has been convicted of the brutal murders of his grandmother and aunt in Lancashire.
The victims, Maureen Allen, 79, and her daughter Geraldine Allen, 57, were found dead inside their Fulwood bungalow on August 8, 2011, after police responded to reports of a fire at the premises.
Post-mortem examinations indicated that both women had suffered multiple stab wounds, leading to their deaths.
Browne admitted to the killings at the beginning of his trial at Preston Crown Court, where he was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum term of 33 years.
Officials described the events as profoundly disturbing, and the detective in charge of the case expressed hope that the verdict would bring some measure of justice and comfort to the victims’ loved ones.
