LONDON COUPLE CONVICTED OF HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
Leanne and Dean Edmunds, a couple residing in London, have been implicated in serious criminal activities involving child abuse and sexual offences.Dean Edmunds, aged 36, began engaging in abuse against children in his early twenties.
He was convicted of filming himself sexually assaulting young girls as young as three, sharing these illicit videos with his wife, and possessing a significant collection of indecent images of children, some classified as the most severe category.
Additionally, he recorded his wife engaging in sex with an animal.
The victims targeted by Dean were all under the age of 13, with the most severe abuse occurring against one girl aged between three and seven.
Dean Edmunds confessed to 28 charges, which included rape, sexual assault of a child, bestiality, and attempting to pervert the course of justice, resulting in an 18-year prison sentence.
His wife, Leanne Edmunds, aged 32, who had previously spent eight months in custody on remand, received a three-year community order after admitting to related crimes such as making indecent images of children, engaging in bestiality, and possessing extreme pornography.
The judge noted that Dean posed a significant threat to children and remarked that, despite their outward appearance of normality, their actions were profoundly heinous.
Authorities discovered approximately 6,700 indecent images on their electronic devices, including hundreds of upskirt photographs taken in public.
The couple had maintained a relationship for ten years and openly discussed their disturbing interests.
Detective Sergeant Laura Davies described these crimes as some of the most severe she had encountered in her five years at the child abuse unit, highlighting Dean's lack of remorse, his arrogance in discussing the offences, and his pride in sharing the illicit images.
