AFGHAN MURDERER AND CONVICTED DRUG DEALER FAKES AGE TO ENTER UK
Lawangeen Abdulrahimzai, an Afghan-born asylum seeker, has a criminal history that includes murder, drug dealing, and violent street fights. He traveled through multiple countries, including Serbia and Italy, where he was convicted of drug dealing.
In Serbia, he was found guilty of the terrifying murder of two Afghan men with an assault rifle, firing 18 rounds during a dispute over migrant smuggling, and was sentenced in absentia to 20 years in prison.
Despite this, he managed to board a ferry to the UK, where he falsely claimed to be 14 years old upon arrival, though he was at least 18.
After arriving in the UK, he was placed in foster care, where his behavior grew increasingly aggressive and dangerous.
He posed with a knife on TikTok, assaulted a man on Snapchat, engaged in street fights, and had a history of violent conduct.
Evidence showed he had been engaging in street fights for money, with some earning up to £100 per bout.
The court heard that he had dragged out the age assessment process, which only concluded in February 2022, just a month before he murdered Thomas Roberts, an aspiring Royal Marine.
Abdulrahimzai claimed he was 14, but an expert verified he was actually 21 at the time of the Serbia murders, indicating he had been an adult all along.
His childhood in Afghanistan was marked by trauma, including the death of his parents by the Taliban and being tortured by militants, before fleeing the country at age 13.
His criminal acts and the failings in the UK asylum system highlight significant issues in immigration management and safeguarding.
