MAN BARGED INTO HOME OF FORMER PARTNER AND SMASHED PROPERTY
A DUNBAR man who burst into his former partner’s home and smashed items will be sentenced next month.Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard the details of the incident, which started when the woman saw Varley walk past her window at about 10pm on March 9.
She ran to lock her front door but then saw him walk round to the back to the patio area, where he pushed the door open, despite the woman attempting to stop him entering.
The court heard that, once inside the home on Bayswell Road, Varley began throwing household items around and pulled a cooker away from the wall.
He was also said to have caused damage to a Wi-Fi box by stamping on it and the victim was overheard screaming for help by neighbours.
Police received six separate calls reporting the ongoing incident and, when officers attended the property, they saw that the woman was in clear “distress”.
Varley, of Lammermuir Crescent, was later traced and arrested.
