KYLE ROWLEY SENTENCED IN COVENTRY FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AND RAPE OF 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL

A 19-year-old man from Coventry, Kyle Rowley, has been handed a significant prison sentence after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses involving a young girl. The court proceedings revealed that Rowley was convicted of three counts of sexual assault and two counts of rape, all related to his abuse of a 12-year-old girl. The sentencing took place at Warwick Crown Court, where the judge emphasized the gravity of the crimes committed by Rowley, who pleaded guilty to all charges.

According to prosecutor Rupert Jones, the victim was subjected to these heinous acts on three separate occasions. The first incident involved Rowley kissing the girl and coercing her into performing a sexual act, which legally qualifies as rape due to her age. The second incident saw Rowley accompanied by an older girl; he kissed both girls and then targeted the 12-year-old girl again. The third incident involved Rowley touching her over her clothing and once more forcing her into a sexual act. These repeated offenses highlight a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior.

Judge Sylvia de Bertodano addressed the court, underscoring the severity of the offenses given the victim's young age. She described Rowley as 'an offender of particular concern,' a classification that means he will only be eligible for release after serving half of his sentence, provided the Parole Board deems him safe to re-enter society. Furthermore, the judge ordered that Rowley will remain on license for the duration of his sentence plus an additional year, ensuring close supervision.

In her remarks, Judge de Bertodano acknowledged the profound and lasting impact such abuse can have on a young victim’s life. She also noted Rowley's personal struggles, including maturity issues and past difficulties, but emphasized that he was aware that his actions were wrong. As part of the court’s orders, Rowley was mandated to register as a sex offender for life and was issued a ten-year restraining order that prohibits him from making any contact with the girl involved in the case. The sentencing reflects the serious stance of the justice system in Coventry and Warwickshire towards protecting vulnerable minors from sexual exploitation and abuse.
