KYLE CAMPBELL SENTENCED TO 21 MONTHS IN PRISON IN CAMBORNE FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Kyle Campbell, aged 29, has been sentenced to 21 months in prison following a series of violent domestic incidents involving his partner and her three-year-old autistic son.

The court heard that Campbell began insulting the child when he sprinkled too much garlic salt on his potatoes during dinner.

When the partner objected, Campbell threw a glass bottle of garlic salt at her, hitting her in the mouth and damaging her teeth.

He then blamed her for not ducking.

Although this was the second violent incident in two months, she initially chose not to report it, believing Campbell would change.

However, a month later, Campbell’s aggression escalated.

After returning to the Pengegon estate in Camborne, he accused his partner of not giving him money for a holiday and then became verbally abusive, mocking her weight.

He poured beer over her head, called her derogatory names, and damaged household items, including a kettle.

He also poured milk over clothes.

Campbell physically assaulted his partner by dragging her by the hair, putting her in a chokehold, and striking her in the face, which caused her to lose consciousness.

As she tried to leave, he further attacked her by kicking her in the back and down some concrete steps.

Fearing for their safety, both the victim and her son fled to a friend’s house, where the police were called.

Since the incidents, the victim has suffered from anxiety, and her son is afraid and avoids sleeping with the door closed, fearing a repeat of the violence.

Campbell was arrested in September after the latest incident and during his arrest, assaulted a police officer.

He admitted to causing actual bodily harm, assaulting an emergency worker, criminal damage, and strangulation, and pleaded guilty in December.

Campbell has 11 previous convictions for 14 offences, predominantly against partners.

His barrister attributed his violent behavior to alcohol abuse, but noted he has since stopped drinking and smoking cannabis.

The judge sentenced Campbell to 21 months, stating his violence was unprovoked and describing the latest incident as a sustained assault.

Campbell will serve 40% of his sentence before release and is subject to a 10-year restraining order preventing contact with his former partner.
