MARRIED DAD SHOUTS 'I WILL KILL YOU' AFTER ASSAULTING GIRLFRIEND OUTSIDE DEWSBURY HOME
A married man identified as Kurosh Ali, aged 30, who assaulted his girlfriend by grabbing her by the throat and abusing her, has been sentenced.The victim, who was upset with Ali after he chose to spend Eid with his family instead of her, ended up on a narrow ledge outside her Dewsbury home after Ali grabbed her during an argument.
Witnesses called police, and as Ali was taken away, he shouted to her, "I will kill you." Ali had denied the assault but changed his plea to guilty during his trial at Kirklees Magistrates' Court last month.
Prosecutor Joe Hudson stated that the couple had been living apart at the time of the offence on June 6, and Ali had turned up unexpectedly at the victim’s home.
An argument ensued about their relationship and Eid celebrations, with Ali alleging the victim had been abusive and scratched his face, inflicting long-term injuries.
Ali explained that the incident was caused by her anger and an argument while they were both in drink, and that the relationship was toxic and over, with his wife discovering their affair.
Ali, who resides on Binnie Street in Bradford, was not represented at sentencing and was given a community order with 80 hours of unpaid work and participation in a 33-day Building Better Relationships programme.
He was also ordered to pay £300 in prosecution costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
