2019: PERVERT JAILED FOR MASTURBATING ON WORCESTER TRAIN AFTER TEACHER FILMED HIM

A SEX offender who touched himself while on a train near children was caught when a horrified young teacher took photos of him in the act.

Kritsana Bunngam played with himself for about 10 minutes on a train from Birmingham to Worcester, later claiming his penis fell out ‘by accident’.

He was arrested at the city’s Foregate Street rail station after the teacher emailed her surreptitious photos to British Transport Police.

The young woman also warned a mother in the same carriage so that her children would not have to see what Bunngam was doing on the journey between New Street Grand Central in Birmingham and Worcester Foregate Street on May 30 last year.

Despite ‘overwhelming’ evidence against the 23-year-old, he pleaded not guilty to exposure but was unanimously convicted by a jury at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday.

Yesterday Judge Nicolas Cartwright said the teacher’s actions had led directly to the apprehension and detention of the labourer and asked that she be given a £250 reward by the High Sheriff of Worcestershire.

Bunngam, of Southfield Street, Arboretum, Worcester, had an almost identical previous conviction for touching himself in front of two women while looking out of the downstairs window of his home, in September 2013, for which he received a nine month community order.

He has also been caught travelling on the railway without paying his fare and cautioned for possession of cannabis.

Mark Phillips, prosecuting, said that on May 30 there had been children on the train but there was no evidence that they saw anything.

The woman saw Bunngam’s exposed penis and his hand ‘moving up and down as if he were touching himself’ though he used his iPad to hide what he was doing.

Rachel Pennington, representing Bunngam, said: “He left the court room in tears yesterday and has had overnight to consider the loss, the very real loss, of his liberty today.

That is something that will never be forgotten and something that is likely to be a further preventative factor.” Judge Nicolas Cartwright said a previous community order had not prevented him going on to repeat his behaviour.

He said of the exposure itself: “She took photographs surreptitiously of what you were doing and five stills were placed before the jury.

They provided overwhelming evidence you were exposing yourself.

Your explanation that your penis was accidentally out of your fly was rejected by the jury, unsurprisingly.” Judge Cartwright said there were aggravating features including his previous conviction for doing the same thing.

He said: “There were young children also present in the carriage.

Fortunately there is no evidence that they saw what you were doing, not least because the complainant took the step of going to notify their mother so that she was able to prevent them from coming down the carriage or moving into a position where they could see you.” The judge rejected requests that Bunngam be placed on a community order because he said he had ‘failed to accept any wrongdoing’.

He sentenced him to four months in jail, as a deterrent.

He also must inform police of any changes in his circumstances for seven years and pay £2,400 towards the £2,800 trial costs at £200 per month.
