STALKER DUMPED BY GIRLFRIEND DEMANDED HER USED UNDERWEAR
Stalker Kristian Taylor bombarded his ex with messages and demanded she send him her used underwear. The 38-year-old could not accept their relationship was over and in the months that followed he repeatedly contacted her in an aggressive and threatening manner.
He sent her messages on several social media platforms, demanded she send him her used underwear, and threatened to visit her home against her wishes.
Now Taylor has been sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for 18 months, at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
Prosecutor Nick Tatlow said Taylor and his victim had been in a 10-year relationship which ended in 2018.
But in the following months he contacted her repeatedly in an aggressive and threatening manner.
Mr Tatlow said: "He constantly demanded she sent him her underwear.
He threatened to return to the house against her wishes.
He messaged her constantly on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
He made repeated attempts to contact the victim.
A non-molestation order was made on June 28, 2018.
The defendant breached that order by sending messages and was sentenced in 2020 to a conditional discharge and a restraining order was made." In a victim impact statement the woman said his behaviour caused her fear and anxiety.
She now suffers from chronic anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder and has frequent nightmares and flashbacks.
Taylor, of Lawton Crescent, Biddulph, pleaded guilty to stalking.
Neil Ahuja, mitigating, said Taylor pleaded guilty and was remorseful.
He added that the offending happened a long time ago and the delay has affected the defendant also.
Recorder Robert Smith declined to make Taylor the subject of a restraining order stating he was not satisfied it was necessary or proportionate.
As part of the suspended sentence Taylor must complete a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement and a three month electronically-monitored curfew from 9pm to 6am.
He must also pay £1,000 compensation to his ex.
Recorder Smith said: "You could not accept that the relationship was over.
You repeatedly called her in April and May 2018.
You were abusive, threatening and aggressive.
You demanded she sent her used underwear.
You tried to contact her on various social media platforms.
She would have been distressed by you threatening to turn up at her house and you asking for used underwear." "The offending happened eight years ago.
By your own admission, you were drinking heavily following the breakdown of your relationship.
You have not been in any further trouble with the police and you have not sought to contact the victim now for several years.
There is a reasonable prospect of rehabilitation.
You have been out of trouble for a number of years."
