RAMS GATE MAN KRISTIAN FERNANDEZ SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGE OFFENCES IN MAY 2021
In May 2021, a man from Ramsgate, Kristian Fernandez, was sentenced after police discovered him with highly disturbing images on his phone.
Fernandez had previously been subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) following a conviction for similar offences in 2009.
During a routine police visit to his residence on Clements Road on June 6, 2019, an officer noticed an indecent image of a child on Fernandez’s phone, which was subsequently seized.
Closer investigation revealed an alarming collection of indecent videos and images, including 16 categorized as Category A—the most severe classification by police and courts.
Fernandez was arrested and charged with three separate offences related to more than 20 images and videos across categories A, B, and C.
On Wednesday, he appeared at Canterbury Crown Court and pleaded guilty to three counts of making an indecent image of a child.
The court sentenced him to two years and three months in prison.
