KRIS RITSON OF CUMBRIA ATTACKS EX-GIRLFRIEND IN WHITEHAVEN AND CUMBRIA
Kris Ritson, a 33-year-old man from Cumbria, was involved in a series of violent incidents against his former partner on June 22.The events unfolded within the town of Whitehaven and the surrounding areas, highlighting a troubling pattern of aggression and disregard for legal restrictions.
Several weeks prior to these incidents, Ritson had been released from prison after serving time for a severe assault on the same woman.
The earlier attack was particularly brutal, involving stamping, punching, and even placing a pillow over her face, which left her with lasting emotional and physical scars.
His release was conditional, and he was subject to a two-year restraining order that prohibited any contact with his ex-girlfriend.
Despite these legal restrictions, Ritson breached the order shortly after his early April release.
The breach was a clear violation of the court's directive, demonstrating a blatant disregard for the law and the safety of the woman involved.
On June 22, the situation escalated further when Ritson physically pushed his former partner inside her own home, an act that caused her glasses to be thrown and broken.
This act of violence inside her private residence underscored the threat he posed.
Later that same day, the violence continued at a local pub in Whitehaven.
Witnesses reported that Ritson pushed the woman again, this time to prevent her from leaving the premises.
His aggressive behavior in public places added to the distress and fear experienced by his victim.
Ritson admitted to two counts of assault and breaching the restraining order during his court appearance at Carlisle Crown Court.
The court heard a harrowing impact statement from the woman, who described Ritson as controlling and excessively paranoid.
She expressed her deep regret for ever meeting him, stating, “Kris has ruined everything in my life and I wish I had never met him.
I want to be left alone.
I feel like he is not going to stop until I am dead.” Her words reflected the profound emotional toll and ongoing danger she faces due to his actions.
