JEDBURGH MAN PUSHED PARTNER AND GRABBED HER IN ASSAULT
A JEDBURGH man who assaulted his partner has been ordered to carry out 70 hours of unpaid work at the town’s sheriff court.Forty-five-year-old Kris Cardwell pleaded guilty to pushing the woman on the body and seizing her by the clothing during a bust-up at their home in Elliot Road on the morning of July 19.
The court was told his partner had accused him of cheating on her.
After the assault she left the property and called the police.
Cardwell’s lawyer said his client had been trying to get away from his partner during the argument and had gone through three different rooms but eventually reacted.
The lawyer added: “He knows he should not have done that.”
