JEDBURGH MAN CHARGED WITH RAPING CHILD

UPDATE——————— A sexual offender has been jailed for three years after being convicted of targeting two underage girls.

At the High Court in Dundee on Tuesday, Aaron Bambrick was sentenced by Lord Harrower after being found guilty of indecent communication with a 14-year-old girl and having sexual intercourse with a separate 15-year-old girl.

The court heard how Bambrick, who was known to one victim's family, used Snapchat to send sexual messages to the 14-year-old over a four-month period.

Despite being told "no", he continued making inappropriate comments, telling the girl she was beautiful and that he wanted to kiss and have sex with her.

A 25-year-old man from Jeburgh will face trial at the High Court in Edinburgh charged with the violent assault and alleged rape of a child.

25-year-old Aaron Bambrick, is also accused of intentionally sending a sexual communication to another without consent.

The child who was just 15 years old alleged that the offence occurred in December 2022.

He has pleaded not guilty to all three charges.

A trial is scheduled to start on May 11 2026.
