A PERTH MAN BRUTALLY ASSAULTED HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND AFTER SLASHING HER PURSE WITH A KNIFE.
Kieran Young attended Perth Sheriff Court and confessed to causing fear and distress to his former partner during a violent disturbance at a residence on Lewis Place.
The 26-year-old admitted to a charge of conduct that was threatening or abusive on December 4 of the previous year.
During the incident, he shouted and used offensive language directed at his ex-partner, displayed a kitchen knife, and used it to cut open a purse.
Additionally, he repeatedly kicked an oven door, resulting in damage.
Young also acknowledged assaulting the woman, attempting to take her mobile phone from her hand, and engaging in a violent struggle with her.
This resulted in her falling to the floor, where he kicked her and caused injury.
Sheriff Donald Ferguson postponed the sentencing until August 10 to allow for background reports to be prepared.
