MAN REPEATEDLY ASSAULTED FORMER PARTNER
A man responsible for a month-long series of violent acts against his former partner has received a jail sentence.Kieran Jones, aged 37, initiated the assault at his ex-partner's residence in Paston on the morning of 30 November last year.
During this incident, he slapped her, resulting in a swollen lip.
Further violence was inflicted on 4 December at the same address, where he spat at her and punched her, causing a cut to her lip.
On 13 December, the two went out for a meal at a local restaurant, and following an argument, Jones threatened to run her over by revving his car engine.
He also threw a drink can at her on 30 December and spat at her, continuing the pattern of aggression.
Despite the repeated assaults, the victim sustained only minor injuries.
At Cambridge Crown Court on 22 June, Jones, who resides on Hawthorn Road in Folksworth near Peterborough, was sentenced to 42 weeks in prison after admitting to four assault charges and one driving offence.
The driving conviction involved driving without due care and attention, which carried nine penalty points on his licence; no additional penalty was imposed for this offence.
Additionally, Jones was subject to a restraining order shielding the victim until the year 2031.
