KIERAN BALL, EX-COVENTRY POLICE OFFICER, SENTENCED FOR VOYEURISM IN LEAMINGTON
In a significant case that has shocked the local community, Kieran Ball, a former officer of the British Transport Police with ties to Coventry, has been sentenced to prison after being convicted of a serious sexual offence.The incident, which took place while Ball was still serving as a police officer, culminated in a court ruling that has brought to light troubling behavior involving privacy violations and voyeurism.
On April 6th, at Leamington Crown Court, Kieran Ball, aged 30, was found guilty of voyeurism following a trial that revealed disturbing details about his actions.
The court heard that the offence occurred on June 10th, 2021, when Ball was still an active member of the police force.
A woman, who was at a private residence, went to take a shower and noticed an iPad belonging to Ball positioned on the windowsill.
To her shock, she observed that the device had been recording her for nearly six minutes, capturing footage of her undressing.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, she quickly recorded the recording on her mobile phone and reported the incident to authorities.
Following her report, Warwickshire Police launched an investigation into the matter.
As part of their inquiries, officers seized Ball’s mobile devices for forensic analysis.
During interviews, Ball was questioned about the voyeurism allegations, which he denied.
He attempted to justify his actions by claiming that he had been using the iPad to masturbate, a defense that was ultimately rejected by the jury.
The evidence collected and testimonies presented during the trial led to his conviction.
On June 30th, the court sentenced Kieran Ball to 12 months in prison.
Additionally, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for a period of ten years, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his future activities.
Furthermore, a restraining order was issued, prohibiting him from contacting the victim or approaching within 100 meters of her residence.
The incident and subsequent conviction resulted in Ball’s immediate suspension from the British Transport Police, and he was formally dismissed from the force following an accelerated misconduct hearing held on May 2nd.
Throughout the proceedings, Ball maintained his innocence, refusing to accept any wrongdoing.
