HARTLEPOOL MAN JAILED FOR SEVEN YEARS OF DOMESTIC TERROR
A man from Hartlepool, Keith Fleetham, has been sentenced to 25 months in custody for a seven-year campaign of domestic abuse against his partner.Throughout their relationship, Fleetham subjected his partner to continual threats, vile insults, and violence.
His aggressive behavior included pinning his partner to a wall with his hands around her throat and demanding her bank PIN during an argument.
The victim described feeling so frightened that her child was too scared to leave the room to use the toilet, and she recounted that Fleetham would threaten her while often drinking, throwing objects, calling her derogatory names, and behaving unpredictably.
One incident involved Fleetham pushing his wife’s friend, causing her to lose consciousness after hitting her head on a concrete slab, and ripping off her fingernail during a struggle over keys.
He pleaded guilty to coercive and controlling behavior and two counts of assault, which related to a specific incident at a birthday party in November 2021.
His attorney expressed remorse, noting that he had stopped drinking and was disgusted with himself.
The court described Fleetham as a bullying thug who inflicted a seven-year reign of terror on his partner, emphasizing the severity of his actions and the impact on his family.
