An asylum seeker named Kamran Khan, aged 43, is facing trial over allegations of sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl.
The offences, which allegedly include the girl being orally raped twice and being forced to watch sexual acts, are said to have occurred between April and July of this year.
Khan, originally from Pakistan, was residing in Lambeth, South London, during the time of these incidents.
The court records indicate that Mr.
Khan was remanded in custody last month, and he entered a plea of not guilty during a short hearing at Inner London Crown Court on Tuesday.
He faced charges that include forcing the child to perform sex acts on him as well as making her watch sexual activities on multiple occasions.
Khan communicated through an Urdu interpreter and wore prison-issue clothing during the court proceedings.
The judge, Benedict Kelleher, scheduled a seven-day trial for January 5 of next year.
Khan will appear again at court for the trial, which is fixed for next year, as shown in recent court images.
The case has attracted significant media attention due to the serious nature of the allegations and the offender's status as a migrant from Pakistan.
