RAPIST JAILED FOR NINE YEARS
Kajal Miah was sentenced to prison for the crime of raping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl inside his vehicle.
The incident, which took place in 2023, was brought to light at Newcastle Crown Court, where it was reported that the 39-year-old former preyed upon the young girl, coercing her into performing sexual acts.
Following the assault, law enforcement were promptly notified, leading to an investigation.
Miah was detained by police and subsequently faced charges, although he maintained his innocence regarding the assault.
In September 2022, he appeared before Newcastle Crown Court and admitted to the charges of rape and sexual assault.
The presiding judge sentenced him to nine years in prison.
Additionally, Miah, residing at Westgate Court in Newcastle, will spend the rest of his life on the Sex Offenders’ Register and was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) that lasts for life.
