MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AND RAPE
A man from Birmingham has received a lengthy prison sentence after being found guilty of raping and sexually assaulting a woman and a teenage girl.
Juma Ahmadi, aged 46, was sentenced to 25 years in prison and was also subjected to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, following charges related to the abuse of a woman in her 40s and a teenage girl.
The case came to light after a teenage girl, in July last year, confided in a hospital doctor about her sexual abuse.
The doctor then contacted emergency services and ensured her safety.
Officials visited the hospital and interviewed her, during which she revealed that Ahmadi had repeatedly sexually assaulted and raped her over three years, often offering her money to buy goods.
Subsequently, Ahmadi was arrested on suspicion of multiple counts of sexual assault and rape.
The next day, the girl courageously attended a police station to give a recorded interview.
During the investigation, a woman in her 40s came forward, disclosing that Ahmadi had also raped her multiple times.
Hailing from Whitmore Street in Birmingham, Ahmadi was charged with nine counts of rape and sexual assault.
After a trial, he appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court last week for sentencing.
