DOMESTIC ABUSER JULIEN MOULY FINED AFTER TAUNTING EX-PARTNER WITH PHOTO OF INJURIES
A domestic abuser named Julien Mouly was caught by police after he took a photograph of his former partner Julie Young’s injuries to taunt her.The incident occurred at their home in Perth’s Errochty Grove last November.
Julie Young, who runs a dance school, suffered cuts and bleeding during the assault.
Mouly also lashed out at her, and after the assault, he took a photo which was later used as evidence in court.
Sheriff William Wood fined Mouly £450, stating that without the photograph, the Crown might have struggled to convict him.
Ms.
Young, aged 45, has spoken out about her experience, urging other victims not to suffer in silence.
She mentioned she endured two years of mental and psychological abuse before the incident, which she described as a taunt from Mouly when he said, 'Here, this will help you, you can take this to the police,' after recording her injuries.
Mouly and Ms.
Young were in a relationship for 15 years but separated about a year and a half before the assault.
Ms.
Young emphasized the importance of reporting abuse and shared her wish for others to seek help early, as well as her belief that Mouly did not think she would report him, which worried her.
The court's actions and Ms.
Young’s advocacy highlight the serious consequences of domestic violence.
