OFFENDER JOSHUA WALTON JAILED FOR DOMESTIC ASSAULT IN LIVERSEDGE
A man named Joshua Walton was involved in an incident where he punched his partner in the face following a night of watching a boxing match.Walton pleaded guilty to assault and criminal damage at Kirklees Magistrates' Court.
The assault took place on September 22 in Listing Lane, Liversedge at 11 pm.
Prosecutor Natalie Chapman stated that after the match had finished, the victim wanted to go home, but Walton became angry and started an argument.
She reported: “This started an argument as Walton didn't want to go home and he became angry.
‘As she walked off he swung at her, punching her to the right cheek and causing her to fall to the floor.
Her nose started bleeding and she was in shock.” Walton, aged 28, also kicked a neighbour's car during the incident.
He later admitted to police that he had consumed a significant amount of alcohol and taken cocaine, which contributed to his behavior.
Walton was sentenced by Deputy district judge Edward Barr to 200 hours of unpaid work.
He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £85 victim surcharge.
