JOSHUA CRAFT FROM KENNINGTON CAUGHT GROOMING TEEN GIRLS USING ONE DIRECTION FACADE
In December 2014, a disturbing case emerged involving Joshua Craft, a resident of Meadow View Road in Kennington, who engaged in predatory behavior targeting vulnerable teenage girls online.Craft, then aged 18 and 19, attempted to manipulate young girls by falsely claiming to be a friend of the popular band One Direction, in an effort to groom them for sexual exploitation.
Craft's scheme involved using a specialized search engine to identify fans of One Direction, commonly known as Directioners.
Over the course of the previous summer, he targeted approximately ten girls, employing a calculated approach to establish a false sense of friendship with the band members.
He then proceeded to ask these girls to remove their clothing and touch themselves on webcam, with only one girl succumbing to his demands.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Craft's manipulative tactics extended to a particularly vulnerable 15-year-old girl.
