COUPAR ANGUS MAN ADMITS 17-MONTH CAMPAIGN OF DOMESTIC CRUELTY
A Coupar Angus man, Joshua Colville, 26, appeared at Perth Sheriff Court and admitted engaging in a prolonged course of abusive behavior towards his former partner over a period of 17 months, from June 1, 2021, to November 1, 2022.He was accused of throwing household items during arguments, pushing her, seizing her by her clothes, and throwing her to the floor.
Additionally, he took her phone, threatened her, and made offensive remarks, including accusations of infidelity.
Colville's actions included verbally abusing and physically assaulting his partner, resulting in her being subjected to a sustained period of cruelty.
It was noted that he also set fire to a photograph and made threatening threats.
He was formally charged with these offenses and is expected to be sentenced later.
The court noted his history of violence, including an earlier conviction for assault in 2019 at a taxi rank, where he was involved in a fracas that resulted in a man's death after being punched and falling.
Currently, Colville is awaiting sentencing for his recent abusive behavior.
