ANGUS MAN ON SEX OFFENDERS REGISTER AFTER ATTEMPTED KISS AMID DRUNKEN MESSAGES
An Angus sleaze is on the sex offenders register after trying to kiss a woman who called for help when she was vomiting.Alan Dargie returned to Forfar Sheriff Court to be sentenced, having previously admitted attempting to kiss the woman on the cheek and communicating indecently towards her.
At a previous calling of his case, the prosecutor explained Dargie and others visited the woman and consumed alcohol with her but she started to feel unwell and went to bed.
While lying in bed, she heard footsteps and felt Dargie, the only person in the room, try to kiss her cheek.
The court also heard he would regularly message her, including stating: “I know I promised not to message you again but I have to tell you something.
“The desire and passion I have for you is unbelievable.
Can’t get you out of my head.
Just can’t stop looking at you.
“You probably noticed when you were lying in bed.
The thoughts that were going through my head.
I’m looking at pictures and videos of you every day.
Can’t get enough of you.” The woman contacted police and Dargie told officers: “I totally regret it.” He admitted sexually assaulting the woman in her Carnoustie home last December and sending her sexual messages between August 2023 and August 2025.
Sentencing had been deferred and the 67-year-old, of Wellbank, was placed on the sex offenders register and under supervision for nine months by Sheriff Paul Ralph, who labelled his conduct “sheer folly.”
