GLASGOW MAN SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ACTIVITY WITH TEEN GIRL
A man who engaged in sexual conduct with a teenage girl has received the most severe non-custodial sentence available.Josh Lal, who previously admitted to offenses committed when he was 18 against the girl at ages 13 and 14, is now 21.
Between October 2022 and January 2024, he consistently kissed her, touched her inner thighs, buttocks, and waist, and pressed his face against her private areas.
He also engaged in indecent communication, sending her naked photos of himself and encouraging her to send similar images.
Lal, residing on Stewartville Street, Partick, Glasgow, also confessed to attempting to arrange for her to travel to have illegal sexual encounters.
The incidents took place at various locations in Bowling, Clydebank, and other areas.
Additionally, he took or allowed others to take indecent photos of himself at properties in Clydebank and Glasgow from July 2022 to January 2023.
On May 5 at Dumbarton Sheriff Court, Lal was sentenced to two years of supervised social work, including participation in the Moving Forward 2 Change program for sex offenders, and received the maximum of 300 hours of unpaid community service as an alternative to prison.
Furthermore, he is prohibited from having any contact with his victim for five years and has been placed on the sex offenders register.
