BOLTON MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL MURDER OF PARTNER KELLY DAVIES
Joseph Davies, aged 36, was found guilty of killing his partner Kelly Davies. The crime happened in Bolton, where her body was discovered at her house on Queen Street, Farnworth.
The case showed that Davies and Kelly had been in a relationship for several years, during which they had three children together.
Despite their long-term connection, Davies had served time in prison on multiple occasions, and there was a history of domestic violence between the two.
The assault occurred soon after Davies was released from prison on 1 June, after which he escaped to Holland.
Following the attack, he took a taxi to Manchester Airport.
He was eventually detained in Holland after injuring his leg during an incident with a tram.
Kelly Davies was found dead by a friend who discovered her body, and paramedics confirmed her passing.
Elizabeth Reed of CPS North West commented, “We are pleased to have secured justice for Kelly.
Davies believed he could avoid punishment by fleeing abroad after his violent act.” Andy Tattersall from Greater Manchester Police described Davies as a “violent bully” who murdered the mother of his children and someone he claimed to love, adding that he hoped Kelly's family would find some comfort in this legal outcome.
