KIRKCALDY SEX OFFENDER JORDON LINTON ATTACKED HIS GIRLFRIEND’S BEST FRIEND
Fife sex predator Jordon Linton has been exposed as a sex offender after a jury at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court found him guilty of sexually assaulting his own girlfriend’s best friend. The shocking conviction was returned on Friday 5 December 2025, placing him straight onto the Sex Offenders Register while he remains unbelievably on bail until sentencing on 12 January 2026.
The court heard how the victim — trusted, welcomed, and part of the inner circle — had helped Linton bring his heavily intoxicated partner home after a night out.
She lay beside her friend in bed, laughing and winding down after their night together.
Linton seized that moment to attack her.
Jurors accepted the victim’s account that Linton climbed into the bed, touched her without consent, and sexually assaulted her.
She escaped in panic, only for him to chase her downstairs, making vulgar and crude remarks as she fled the house.
Her shock was so severe she simply ran home to safety.
The next day, she told her friend everything — and the court was told Linton admitted what he’d done.
The relationship briefly ended, but to the victim’s disbelief, the pair later reunited.
She said this betrayal from her own social circle pushed her to finally report the incident to police, despite knowing her decision could cost her friendships.
It did — but the truth mattered more.
Prosecutors refused every attempt by the defence to cut the charges down, pushing the case to a full trial.
The jury didn’t hesitate.
They found him guilty of Sexual Assault and Sexual Assault with Penetration, confirming him as a danger and ensuring his name is now recorded as a sex offender.
The victim said Linton’s actions destroyed her trust, not just in him but in people she thought would protect her.
Despite the conviction, the sex pest has stayed with his partner risking her professional career as a nurse.
Linton will return to court on 12 January to face the sentence he has spent months trying to avoid.
His victim, however, has already delivered the most important blow — exposing him for exactly what he is.
—————————————————————————————————— SENTENCING UPDATE —————————————————————————————————— First offender Jordon Linton was given the maximum number of unpaid work hours as an alternative to custody.
Jordon Linton was found guilty by a jury of sexually assaulting the woman by penetration.
The pair were known to each other before the 2023 attack.
She cannot be identified for legal reasons but a family member told The Courier of the “horrific” experience of sitting through the evidence and their “relief” when he was found guilty.
He said: “They tried to make out it was a threesome gone wrong.
That’s what was being spread about the town but he was found guilty.
“It was horrific when we had to sit there and hear it.” Sheriff James Williamson noted Linton, 31, was a first offender and spared him a custodial sentence.
As a direct alternative, he was ordered to carry out the maximum 300 hours of unpaid work and placed under supervision for a year.
Linton, of Kirkcaldy, was also placed on the sex offenders register for 12 months.
The victim’s family member added while he is glad to see Linton punished, he felt the sentence was too lenient.
“I think because the prisons are full they look at other means of punishment and I think that’s wrong.
“When it’s a sex offender it should be a custodial sentence, without doubt.” At the sentencing hearing this week solicitor Alan Jackson said the jury “had difficulty” with his client’s views on consent at the time of the incident.
He said: “His grasp of what consent means went out the window with logical thinking in regard to that particular night.
“He recognises in hindsight that he crossed a boundary.
“He’s aware that not only has he crossed a boundary in terms of offending but a boundary has been crossed in terms of custody.” He said Linton is currently suspended from his job and had lost contact with friends as a result of court proceedings.
Mr Jackson said his connection to the complainer had “shattered”.
