FLINTSHIRE MAN JAILED FOR GROOMING AND SEXUALLY ABUSING 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL
A man named Jordan Tarran, aged 23, from Flintshire, was sentenced to four years and two months in prison for engaging in sexual activity with a girl who was just 14 years old.The court heard that Tarran had groomed the girl with vapes, alcohol, and tobacco, and they had sexual encounters in his bed approximately 15 to 20 times.
The victim, now 16, described feeling as though she was in love and initially believed he was respectful and tender, but later felt uncomfortable and scared.
She also recounted that Tarran would sometimes choke her and that they did not use contraception.
After his arrest in June 2023, Tarran claimed he believed she was 17, although he now understands she was only 14, and he initially denied having sex with her.
He also sent her an intimate photograph of himself, which he later said was a false allegation made by her.
The judge, His Honour Simon Mills, praised the girl for being "eloquent and courageous" during court proceedings.
Tarran was also sentenced to 12 months for sexual communication with a child and six months for making an indecent image of a child, to be served concurrently.
He will serve half of his sentence and will be subject to lifelong sex offender notification requirements and a sexual harm prevention order.
Additionally, a ten-year restraining order prohibits him from contacting the victim.
