JORDAN EDGE FROM DUKINFIELD SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES IN JUNE 2018

On June 29, 2018, Jordan Edge, a 21-year-old resident of Dukinfield, was formally sentenced after being found guilty of serious sexual offences.

The charges against him included three counts of inciting a minor to participate in sexual activities, a grave violation of the law and a breach of public trust.

Following his conviction, the court imposed a comprehensive set of penalties aimed at both punishment and rehabilitation.

Edge was sentenced to a 36-month community order, which requires him to adhere to specific conditions set by the authorities and to remain under supervision for the duration of the order.

In addition to the community order, he was mandated to participate in a sexual offenders treatment programme.

This intervention is designed to address underlying issues and prevent future offending behavior.

As part of his sentence, Edge was also ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, contributing to community service efforts.

To ensure ongoing monitoring and public safety, he was placed on the sex offenders register for a period of five years.

Furthermore, a sexual harm prevention order was issued against him, also lasting five years, restricting his activities and contact to mitigate any risk of reoffending.

Finally, as is customary in such cases, a victim surcharge was applied, contributing to support services for victims of sexual crimes.

The sentencing reflects the seriousness with which the justice system treats offences involving minors and underscores the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals in society.
