ANIMAL CRUELTY: WOMAN FILMED HITTING HER DOGS WITH A SPADE CONVICTED IN COURT
A woman identified as Elizabeth Perrin, aged 52, from Thorncliffe Avenue, Dukinfield, was convicted of causing unnecessary suffering to three French bulldogs.
Court proceedings revealed that Perrin was filmed on camera striking her dogs with a garden spade in a backyard while in the company of her ex-partner Trevor Hague.
Video footage showed her walking around the yard, striking two of the dogs before shouting 'next one'.
The RSPCA investigation also found that Hague kicked the dogs, and Perrin was filmed hitting the pets with a broom.
Perrin admitted to causing unnecessary suffering by inflicting blunt force trauma and physical violence, and also failed to meet their needs by housing them away from other animals.
Hague admitted to a single charge of causing unnecessary suffering to a dog through kicking.
At Tameside magistrates court on May 14, Perrin received a 12-month community order, a 16-week night curfew, and was ordered to pay £700 costs.
Hague was banned from keeping dogs for six months, fined £604, and ordered to pay £700 costs.
The offences date back to 2020 and 2021, occurring at Town Lane, Dukinfield.
