JONATHAN LISTER FROM DEWSBURY SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES IN SHOCKING CASE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Dewsbury, Jonathan Lister, a 41-year-old man residing on Coniston Road in Hanging Heaton, was found guilty of possessing indecent images of children. The incident came to light after police conducted a raid on his home early in the morning, specifically at 7am on February 17. At the time, Lister was living alone with his 69-year-old mother, a situation that has added to the personal tragedy of the case.

During the investigation, authorities uncovered that Lister had accumulated approximately 300 images depicting young girls aged between 9 and 11 years old. These images were described as being of scantily dressed children, a detail that underscores the severity of the offense. The case was brought to the attention of West Yorkshire Police after the National Criminal Intelligence Service received information indicating that Lister had paid $19.95 for a gold subscription to a website based in the United States, which was linked to the distribution or possession of such illicit material.

In court proceedings held at Dewsbury Magistrates Court, the defendant admitted to 20 charges related to the possession of indecent photographs. His actions led to his immediate dismissal from his role as a secondary school supply teacher working across various schools within the Kirklees area. The court heard emotional testimony from his defense lawyer, Arshad Khan, who stated that Lister's life had been profoundly affected by these events. Khan described Lister as a man whose life had been shattered and who was now shunned by his own family, highlighting the social and personal repercussions of his actions.

As a result of his guilty plea, Lister was sentenced to a fine of £600 and ordered to pay £60 in court costs.
