WARRINGTON MAN JAILED FOR CONTROLLING AND VIOLENT ABUSE LEADING TO INJURY
A man named Jonathan Hall, aged 45, from Warrington, was convicted of a sustained domestic abuse offense involving his wife, Amanda Lomax, aged 51.The abuse included repeated acts of violence, such as kicking her to the floor and refusing to seek medical help when she was in severe pain.
Amanda recounts how Hall, less than a month after their wedding in September 2021, assaulted her so viciously that he broke her back and fractured five ribs.
Despite pleas from her family, who had already spotted warning signs and boycotted the wedding, Hall continued his violent behavior, attacking her on multiple occasions.
Amanda described the physical and psychological trauma she endured, including an incident where Hall pulled her arm behind her until it snapped, leaving lasting damage.
Hall was arrested and pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, and two counts of assault.
He was sentenced to 27 months in prison, with a restraining order preventing him from contacting Amanda or entering her street indefinitely.
The court acknowledged his previous convictions for offenses including assault, affray, drink driving, and dishonesty.
Hall's history also includes a 2016 harassment conviction against an ex-partner.
Amanda shared her story publicly to warn other women about domestic abuse and urged victims to seek help from organizations like Women’s Aid and SupportLine, emphasizing that alcohol is not an excuse for violence.
The judge remarked on Hall’s ongoing pattern of violence and urged reflection on his future behavior.
