2004: RADCLIFFE MAN JAILED FOR DOWNLOADING CHILD PORN
2004: A man from Manchester, identified as a 35-year-old named John Hoyle, was sentenced to four months in prison after being found guilty of downloading child pornography from a hotel’s computer.
Following his release, Hoyle will be required to relocate, his solicitor informed the court.
The lawyer, David Lee, explained that due to negative media coverage, Hoyle’s vehicle had been vandalized and he and his family faced threats on the street.
Mr.
Lee noted that Hoyle had experienced significant stress and would need to leave the local area.
Hoyle, residing on Hollinhurst Road in Radcliffe, pleaded guilty to four counts of making indecent images of children.
The offences occurred in September 2002 while Hoyle was working as a night porter at the Merchant Hotel in Manchester city centre.
He was subsequently dismissed from his job, and his lawyer argued that his actions stemmed from boredom and curiosity rather than sexual interest.
Mr.
Lee emphasized that Hoyle did not have a sexual inclination towards children and was simply curious about online content.
Hoyle has indicated he intends to appeal the sentence and will be required to register as a sex offender.
