62-YEAR-OLD MAN JAILED FOR 13 YEARS FOR RAPE AND SEXUAL ABUSE
2002: A man convicted of multiple sexual offenses has received a 13-year prison sentence for abusing a young girl.John Hockey, aged 62 and from Radcliffe, was convicted of 25 charges spanning a decade at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court.
His convictions include two counts of indecency with a child under 14, eight counts of indecent assault on a person under 16, and 15 counts of rape.
The court was told the abuse occurred between 1985 and 1995, when the victim was aged between seven and 17.
Alongside his prison term, Hockey was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
