DISGUSTING AND PROLIFIC EDINBURGH PAEDOPHILE JOHN GOODFELLOW HAS DIED AGED 64
In 2025, John Goodfellow, aged 64 has passed away In 2018, a convicted sex offender with a history of child abuse was sentenced to extended imprisonment after making inappropriate comments to a young teenager. The man, John Goodfellow, was found with condoms and Viagra pills when he engaged in a troubling conversation at Cockenzie Harbour in East Lothian.
Earlier that year, Goodfellow, aged 58, approached a group of schoolchildren and expressed his support for Rangers Football Club, asserting that they would secure all three domestic trophies for the season.
One of the boys, who supported Celtic, responded sarcastically, suggesting he would give Goodfellow a pat on the back if Rangers won every trophy.
During the exchange, Goodfellow made inappropriate remarks to a 15-year-old, indicating he desired the boy to perform sexual acts on him, offering that he wanted "more than that." Police later arrived at the scene to find Goodfellow with 20 condoms and a bottle of Viagra.
Goodfellow subsequently admitted to communicating sexually with the teenage boy for the purpose of sexual gratification.
He also acknowledged violating his Sexual Offenders Prevention Order (SOPO) by contacting the minor despite being prohibited from approaching individuals under 16.
His court appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court resulted in a sentencing of two years’ imprisonment, with an additional two years on license following release.
He was also placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
Court records revealed that Goodfellow had been previously convicted of child sex offenses at Preston Crown Court in 2005, which led to the issuance of his SOPO.
His offender management team had contacted him earlier in June 2018, and he had informed them he was in East Lothian on a fishing trip.
On that day, he visited the harbor around 2 pm, where groups of children were present.
His solicitor stated that Goodfellow was prescribed medication and was carrying condoms in the hope of starting a new relationship.
The defense also claimed that Goodfellow had foolishly involved himself with children during his fishing trip.
The sheriff, Donald Corke, emphasized that Goodfellow’s guilty pleas to two charges demonstrated a high risk of further sexual offending, especially toward young boys.
The court clearly indicated that only a custodial sentence was appropriate due to the seriousness of his actions and remarks, describing them as disturbing and disgusting.
