SERIAL RAPIST JOHN DUFFY'S LATEST 12-YEAR SENTENCE
DETECTIVES responsible for bringing to justice two men for a series of horrific murders and rapes last night confirmed that they have begun a fresh investigation into 18 additional allegations of attacks on women.John Duffy and David Mulcahy, dubbed the Railway Rapists, conducted a reign of terror between 1982 and 1986 in London and the Home Counties.
Duffy was jailed for a further 12 years at the Old Bailey yesterday for a string of attacks on women to which he confessed while serving six life sentences for sex crimes.
Duffy, 41, from Hampstead, north London was given terms ranging from three years to 12 years - all to run concurrently - after admitting eight rapes, seven conspiracies to rape, and two burglaries with intent to rape.
He has confessed now to 25 sex crimes during a reign of terror spanning from 1975 and 1986.
He had admitted the additional offences 12 years into his sentences and named his accomplice as Mulcahy, knowing he would have to give evidence against him.
It was largely through Duffy's evidence that Mulcahy was sentenced earlier this year to three life sentences for murdering three women, and 24-year jail terms for seven rapes.
