COVENTRY WOMAN GUILTY OF BRUTAL MURDER OF EX-PARTNER
A woman from Coventry has been found guilty of murdering her former partner, Jason Bissell.The incident involved Griffiths, 41, who was repeatedly struck over the head with a hammer before being thrown into Lanny's Lagoon Fishery at Stretton-under-Fosse.
His body was discovered in October 2010.
Griffiths was due to be sentenced on 5 December, with her co-accused, Peter Hood, 43, also set to be sentenced the same day.
Hood changed his plea to guilty on the first day of his trial and provided evidence against Griffiths in Birmingham Crown Court.
Det Ch Insp Pete Hill described the case as 'one of the most sickening' he had been involved in.
The police indicated that Griffiths and Hood killed Mr.
Bissell to remove him from their lives after he fathered a child with Griffiths.
Mr.
Bissell's family described him as 'a bright and loving dad, son, brother, and friend,' adding, 'His life was taken in an unbelievable way for trying to do what he knew was right.'
