ALBANIAN RAPIST JAILED FOR SEX ATTACK AFTER FAKE WEDDING
An Albanian criminal who had married an EU citizen in Tirana in an effort to facilitate his re-entry into the United Kingdom was responsible for a brutal sexual assault.Jetmir Xhelollari, aged 34, was previously deported in March 2006 after numerous attempts to secure residency were denied.
He later moved to Edgware in north London, where he worked as a nightclub bouncer and participated in various criminal activities.
In August of the previous year, he met a 23-year-old tourist from Israel in Hendon and convinced her to join him for dinner.
After collecting her, he claimed he needed to return home to change clothes, then lured her to his apartment where he assaulted her sexually.
During the attack, he issued threats, alleging ties to the Mafia and warning he would kill her if she disclosed what had happened.
Xhelollari was found guilty and received a nine-year prison sentence at Harrow Crown Court in February.
He is set to be deported once he completes his sentence.
