BIRMINGHAM MUM CAUGHT WITH EMACIATED BULLDOG HIDES FROM RSPCA
A Birmingham mum 'concealed' her severely underweight bulldog from an RSPCA inspector who came knocking at her door.
Jessica Hunt, aged 33, of Par Street, Frankley, refused the officer entry to her home claiming she had guests over for a birthday celebration.
The inspector initially saw one dog, Patch, which was slightly underweight, but Hunt failed to mention her four-month-old puppy Thor, who was found later in the day to be 'extremely underweight' with a body condition score of 1 on a scale of 1 to 9.
All three dogs — Thor, Bane, and Patch — were seized.
Thor and Bane scored very low on the body condition scale, with Thor at 1, Bane at 2, and Patch at 3, and both had worms.
Hunt and her partner, Jonathan Rounds, aged 35, were prosecuted for causing unnecessary suffering to the dogs.
The court sentences included Hunt receiving a community order with 10 days of rehabilitation activity, and both Hunt and Rounds being banned from keeping dogs for six years.
Rounds, who is serving a 14-year sentence for other crimes, was also convicted and sentenced concurrently to three months in prison.
The case was heard at Birmingham Crown Court on October 21, 2025.
