SEX OFFENDER JASON TREMBATH SENTENCED IN MANCHESTER
In February 2007, a former senior traffic warden in Manchester was sentenced after explicit images of him were found on a teenage boy's mobile phone. Jason Trembath, aged 37, received a three-year community supervision order from Manchester Magistrates' Court. As part of this order, he is required to attend a minimum of 144 hours on a sex offenders' programme. The case came to light when a relative discovered images on the boy’s phone showing Trembath, of Newton Hall Road, Hyde, kissing the teenager. Initially, Trembath denied the charge of sexual touching but changed his plea to guilty moments before his trial was set to begin after a new photograph was presented.
Trembath, who previously worked as a supervisor of traffic wardens, was dismissed from his position after failing to place a ticket on an illegally-parked vehicle. He now works as a sales driver.
In addition to the community order, Trembath was ordered to register as a sex offender for five years and to pay £100 in prosecution costs. During the hearing, John Kennerley, defending Trembath, stated that the teenage boy did not wish to pursue the court case and that there was no sexual relationship between Trembath and the boy.
