'CHEATING' GLASGOW SEX ATTACKER JASON ALBANO JAILED FOR 7.5 YEARS
A sex attacker who regularly cheated on his victim with other women has been jailed for seven and a half years.Jason Albano was sentenced today, March 31, at the High Court in Glasgow.
The 26-year-old had earlier been found guilty of engaging in a course of abusive behaviour, which included raping the woman.
The crimes, which spanned between August 2022 and April 2024, happened in Glasgow, Motherwell in Lanarkshire, as well as Liverpool.
The ordeal saw the woman verbally, physically and sexually abused.
Albano also isolated the victim from those close to her, and refused her access to her phone.
He was separately found guilty of possessing a stun gun at a flat in Summerston in March 2024.
Lord Cubie said Albano: "You began to exercise control in a coercive and selfish way.
You saw a number of girls but took great exception to any behavior from her which you felt undermined you.
You showed disregard and contempt for her wishes.
While violence and sexual assault are obvious forms of abuse, it extends to insidious, subtle, and often damaging behavior that you perpetrated.
It was sustained and persistent." Albano was placed on the sex offenders list and banned from approaching the victim indefinitely.
His defense argued he requires work for issues and has grown up during his time on remand.
