JANE ATTWOOD DAGENHAM SEX OFFENSE AT LONDON CINEMA
In a case that has shocked the community, Jane Attwood, a 36-year-old woman from Dagenham, was sentenced after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy at a cinema located in London's Leicester Square. The incident, which took place in December 2006, involved Attwood engaging in inappropriate sexual acts with the young teenager, actions that have now led to serious legal consequences.During the hearing at Southwark Crown Court, Judge Andrew Trollope described Attwood's behavior as 'deplorable and unjustifiable.' The court was informed that she carried out a sexual act on the boy and then coerced him into reciprocating, a sequence of events that has caused significant concern among community members and authorities alike.
Attwood, who resides on Lodge Avenue in Dagenham, admitted to three charges related to sexual activity with a child. As part of her sentence, she has been placed under a three-year supervision order, which will involve regular monitoring and mandatory participation in a sex offenders' rehabilitation program. Additionally, her name will be entered into the Sex Offenders' Register for a period of five years, ensuring ongoing public and legal oversight.
Judge Trollope emphasized the gravity of the offenses, stating, 'The offences are self-evidently serious. They are particularly serious because it involves contact of you an adult interfering with a young person.' He further warned Attwood that any future misconduct could result in imprisonment. 'It is very important that you never, ever behave in this way to any young person again. If you do, you will go to prison,' he declared.
The case came to light after the boy's mother grew suspicious when Attwood contacted her son. The boy subsequently confided in his mother about the incident, prompting an investigation that led to Attwood's arrest and subsequent conviction. This case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and safeguarding vulnerable young individuals from exploitation and abuse.
