LONDON MAN JAILED FOR LIFE FOR HIS WIFE’S MURDER AFTER FACEBOOK SEARCH
A 30-year-old Pakistani construction worker named Jamshaid Khan was found guilty of killing his Bulgarian wife, Milena Yulianova, in their home in London on 28 January 2014.
Khan had faced repeated refusals for indefinite leave to remain in the UK, and when his wife—an EU citizen—did not support his recent immigration efforts, he reacted violently.
He fatally stabbed her during a heated dispute, delivering 14 stab wounds with a kitchen knife, including an 8cm injury to her heart.
During the trial, Khan maintained that he acted in self-defence, denying the murder charge, but the jury convicted him.
The judge described him as 'a manipulative, devious and deceitful man' who had applied multiple times for permanent residency after converting to Christianity and had become increasingly reliant on his wife to remain in the UK.
The court revealed that Khan had previously searched Facebook for other women who might help him circumvent immigration laws.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 20 years and is expected to face deportation after serving his sentence.
