INVERNESS RAPIST JAMIE IRONSIDE JAILED FOR SERIES OF SEX ATTACKS
A rapist who subjected two women to a series of heinous physical and sexual attacks has been sentenced.
The judicial authorities have described the victim harm as causing 'considerable harm and distress.' The offender, Jamie Ironside, a first-time offender who maintained his innocence, was sentenced to four years imprisonment by Judge Lord Sandison, who also ordered him to be placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
The court previously heard how Ironside committed his crimes within addresses in Inverness, where he resided.
His offenses involved indecent assault on one woman between January 2006 and February 2012, and a series of violent physical and sexual attacks against a second victim in 2012, which included throwing a mobile phone, pushing, choking, and ultimately raping her.
Despite his claims of innocence, Ironside was assessed as being at minimal risk of reoffending but was still sentenced to serve time that would run concurrently for both crimes.
The judge emphasized that Ironside's actions caused severe harm and distress, leading to his placement on the Sex Offenders Register.
