JAMIE FRANCE'S REIGN OF TERROR IN AYRSHIRE AND IRVINE ENDS WITH MULTIPLE JAIL TERMS

In a series of disturbing incidents spanning several years, Jamie France, formerly known as Jamie Evans, has been at the center of serious criminal proceedings in Ayrshire, Irvine, Kilbirnie, and Stevenston. His criminal history is marked by heinous acts of child abuse, repeated breaches of court orders, and manipulative attempts to conceal his illicit activities.

Back in October 2018, France faced a significant legal setback when he was sentenced to prison for breaching a court-imposed order. The breach involved deleting crucial data from his mobile phone, despite strict bail conditions that explicitly prohibited him from removing any material from his device. This incident was part of a broader pattern of misconduct that has characterized his criminal behavior.

France’s criminal record is deeply troubling. His first known conviction dates back to 2007, when he was just 15 years old. At that time, he was convicted of raping a six-year-old girl he had abducted from a swing in Stevenston. The young offender had snatched the child, dragged her over a fence, and taken her into nearby woods where he assaulted her. It was revealed during the trial that he had been spying on her for three weeks prior to the assault. The severity of his crime led to an 11-year extended sentence handed down at the High Court in Edinburgh. Despite this, he was released early in November 2017.

Within days of his release, France—who had previously been known as Jamie Evans—was caught engaging in inappropriate communication with adult content via his mobile phone. He was found making calls and sending texts to Babestation, a well-known adult TV channel, from his flat in Irvine. This was just one day after he was entrusted with a mobile device, which he was explicitly told not to tamper with. Investigations revealed that he had deleted the number associated with the adult channel from his call history, raising suspicions of deliberate concealment.

In May 2018, France was tried and convicted at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court for this breach. He was sentenced to six months imprisonment, with the sentence backdated to November 2017. The court was informed that he had been living in Kilbirnie at the time of the latest offenses. The authorities had placed him under strict bail conditions, including a prohibition on deleting any data from his phone. Despite these restrictions, he was found to have resumed deleting data shortly after being released on bail, specifically between March 28 and April 20 of that year. During this period, he also acquired an Xbox console capable of internet access and private messaging, further complicating his case.

Further court proceedings in May 2018 confirmed his guilt, and he was sentenced to an additional six months imprisonment, with the sentence backdated to November 20 of the previous year. His criminal activities and breaches of court orders highlight a pattern of ongoing misconduct and an apparent disregard for legal restrictions.

In August 2011, authorities took measures to impose strict controls on France, now living in Ayrshire, to prevent him from reoffending. A sexual offences prevention order was granted against him at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court. This order placed him under extended supervision and imposed numerous restrictions, including a ban on leaving the UK, contacting minors under 17, and entering parks, schools, or nurseries without prior approval. He was also prohibited from associating with other sex offenders and from entering Stevenston, the site of his earlier crime. The order mandated a curfew from 07:00 to 19:00 and required him to cooperate with police and support workers in monitoring his activities.

Despite these measures, France’s history of offending remains deeply troubling. His early detention at age 13 for alleged abuse of a girl of the same age, along with subsequent accusations involving young children, underscores a long-standing pattern of predatory behavior. His case continues to be a source of concern for local communities and law enforcement agencies committed to public safety in Ayrshire and beyond.
