AYR SEX OFFENDER JAMIE CONDY SHOCKS COMMUNITY AT DUNURE GALA

In a disturbing revelation that has shocked the local community, Jamie Condy, a man with a recent criminal conviction for sexual offenses, was seen actively participating in a community event at Kennedy Park, near Dunure. The incident occurred during the summer fun day held in the picturesque setting of Kennedy Park, which is located in close proximity to the historic Dunure Castle. The event featured a variety of activities, including a bouncy slide, bottle stalls, face painting, a dog show, and a popular 'beat the goalie' attraction.

Condy, who was serving as the goalkeeper at the 'beat the goalie' game, was captured smiling for photographs as children queued up to kick the ball. This image has caused widespread concern among parents and attendees, especially given Condy's recent criminal history. Despite his criminal record, he was present at the event in a role that involved direct contact with children, raising questions about the safety measures in place at such community gatherings.

Jamie Condy, aged 22 and residing at Stonecrop Place in Ayr, had previously been convicted in April for engaging in sexual activities with two girls aged 13 and 15. His crimes led to his being placed on the sex offenders register and being subject to a five-year sexual offences prevention order (SOPO). This order explicitly prohibits him from engaging in private communication with anyone under the age of 16. Although the court's ruling does not prevent him from meeting people face-to-face, it restricts certain types of contact and communication.

Despite these legal restrictions, Condy openly took on a responsible role at the Kennedy Park event, which has raised serious concerns among community members and event organizers. It is understood that he has not violated any laws or breached his SOPO during the event, but his presence in such a setting has been described as brazen and inappropriate by many.

A visitor attending the fun day expressed disbelief, stating, “I can’t believe a ‘beat the goalie’ was a sex offender. It makes a mockery of the sex offenders’ register with him being around kids in such a brazen way.” The incident has sparked calls for stricter oversight and review of how convicted offenders are monitored and integrated into community activities.

Condy's criminal history includes a guilty plea for having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl in Troon on September 28 of the previous year, at an address in Wallacetown, Ayr. He also admitted to repeatedly engaging in sexual acts with another girl aged 15 between June 1, 2014, and January 20 last year. His sentencing included 140 hours of unpaid work, a two-year period on the sex offenders’ register, three months of electronic tagging, and two years of supervised release.

In addition to his criminal activities, Condy has been active on social media, where he posted a bare torso photo on Twitter, inviting women to “add him back for more.” His actions and presence at the Kennedy Park event have raised serious questions about community safety and the adequacy of current measures to prevent offenders from participating in activities involving children. The event organizers, represented by the Kennedy Hall and Park Committee, declined to comment on the matter, citing policy and privacy concerns.

As the community grapples with the implications of Condy's participation in the event, authorities and community leaders are under pressure to review policies and ensure that such incidents do not recur, safeguarding the well-being of children and the integrity of community events in Ayr and surrounding areas.
